Detailed description	Yayasan Sime Darby invites qualified SPM 2012 students to apply for education sponsorship to pursue foundation studies locally at recognized universities/ private colleges in Malaysia. We are looking for well-rounded Malaysian candidates who have attained excellent academic achievement, demonstrate outstanding leadership qualities and potential and who devote time to make an impact to the community through their extra-curricular activities. Recipients of this scholarship will be sponsored to pursue foundation studies locally to prepare themselves for undergraduate admission at top universities in the United States, Australia and the United Kingdom. The scholarship will cover full tuition fees, living allowance as well as book allowance. Pre-University scholars would be given priority for Yayasan Sime Darby Undergraduate Scholarship (Overseas) upon meeting the qualifying criteria after completion of their foundation studies. The continuation of the degree programme is at the sole discretion of Yayasan Sime Darby. Eligibility & Criteria Malaysian Good communication skills Ability to demonstrate leadership qualities and potential Actively involved in extra-curricular activities and sporting events Minimum Academic Requirements Obtained at least 7 As for trial SPM examination in any subjects taken – combination of A+ and A Accepted Fields of Study Scholarships will be offered to candidates who are inclined to pursue the following fields of study, subject to university’s admission offer: Business: Accountancy, Finance, Business Administration, Economics and Finance Engineering and Technology: Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Computer, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Sciences: Agriculture, Biotechnology, Food Technology, Plantations Technology, Plantation Management Note: Scholarships for Medical and Allied Health Science related courses are not available. Value of Scholarship (Local) The sponsorship covers the following: Full tuition and academic fees Living allowance  Book allowance Note: Students' admission to the assigned preparatory college will be arranged by YSD. Scholarship Application This scholarship is open for application beginning 1st October to 15thOctober 2012. Only online application will be considered. Students are required to submit their trial SPM transcript for this application. Applicants will have to fill up and pass the eligibility check to apply for the scholarship. Applicants who pass the eligibility check will immediately receive via e-mail the login details to submit the application form via YSD scholarship portal (YSMS).
