YTL Foundation Scholarship Programme

The YTL Foundation Scholarship Programme is for students who wish to pursue their tertiary education locally in public or private universities. Students who have finished their SPM, Matriculation, ‘A’ Levels or other foundation programmes can apply. There are up to 30 scholarships awarded under this scholarship programme every year.

Application Criteria

  1. Must come from a family that finds it a challenge to finance tuition fees and living expenses.
  2. The applicant must be a Malaysian citizen.
  3. The ability to study full-time is required.

Requirements

  1. SPM /IGSCE – Min 7As
  2. STPM/ Matriculation /Foundation – Min 2As/ CGPA 3.7
  3. ‘A’ Levels – Min 2As
  4. IB – 36 points

Our scholarship programme is open to students from all fields, with priority given to the following courses:

There are two components to the application form. When you click the link above, you will be prompted to complete Part 1 of the form, which asks for your personal information. Upon submission of Part 1, you will receive Part 2 via the email address you supplied.

Audi Foundation Scholarship

 

The Audi Environmental Foundation actively supports research into new technologies and scientific methods for a liveable future. Its stated goal is to make a contribution to environmental protection and to create and promote ways of behaving sustainably.

The Foundation focuses in particular on promoting and developing environmentally compatible technologies, measures for environmental education, and protecting the natural necessities of life for humans, animals, and plants. It was established in 2009 by AUDI AG as a 100-percent subsidiary and is part of the company’s social and environmental commitment.

Scarce resources, environmental destruction, climate change, and population growth – these are just a few aspects that are influencing society, politics, and business. With the advancing change in social values, for more and more people, sustainability is becoming part of their outlook on life. The challenges that confront us are increasingly complex. Only by working with partners can we develop good concepts and sound solutions to successfully cope with these challenges.

Audi Environmental Foundation is therefore collaborating with One Young World to offer scholarships to 15 inspiring young leaders to attend this year’s One Young World Summit 2024 in Montréal (Tiohtià:ke), Canada.

This scholarship is intended for young leaders driving change and tackling the climate crisis through innovative new technologies, the advancement of climate education, or the preservation of ecosystems through halting or reversing land degradation.

Scholars will receive:

  • Access to the One Young World Summit 2024 in Montreal, Canada.
  • Hotel accommodation in Montreal between 18 – 21 (inclusive) September 2024.
  • Participation at the pre-event by Audi AG and the Audi Environmental Foundation on 17 September 2024.
    • Please note that ability to participate in the pre-event is a criteria for accepting the scholarship place.
  • The cost of travel to and from Montreal (flights in economy).
  • Catering which includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
  • Transport between the Summit accommodation and the Summit venue.

Criteria

  • Aged 18 – 30.
  • Nationals of all countries will be eligible to apply for this scholarship.
  • Evidenced commitment to delivering positive change.
  • Demonstrated capacity for leadership.

Bank Pembangunan Malaysia Berhad (Bank Pembangunan) komited untuk memupuk bakat muda Malaysia yang akan memainkan peranan penting dalam memajukan agenda pembangunan negara melalui program ‘BPMB Award of Group’s Undergraduate Scholarship (BAGUS) kami.
Terbuka kepada pelajar cemerlang Malaysia, program BAGUS menawarkan peluang untuk pelajar melanjutkan pengajian ke peringkat ijazah sarjana muda dalam bidang berkaitan perbankan di universiti berprestij di dalam dan luar negara. Pemohon yang layak mesti memenuhi kriteria berikut:

ASEAN-Maybank Scholarship Programme

 

The ASEAN-Maybank Scholarship programme is a partnership between Maybank Foundation and the ASEAN Secretariat. It is one of the ASEAN-level initiatives undertaken by Maybank Foundation, a newly accredited ASEAN entity, with the aim to “promote an innovative ASEAN approach to higher education”, which is one of the strategic measures listed in the ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community Blueprint 2025.

The scholarship programme is designed to provide young, talented and deserving ASEAN nationals with full scholarships to pursue their undergraduate programme at a prestigious university outside their own countries, but within the ASEAN region, and in the process promote intra-ASEAN integration.

In cooperation with the ASEAN University Network, the focus will initially be on placing selected scholars in top universities under the ASEAN Universities Network. The ASEAN University Network membership currently stands at 30 core member universities and 11 associate universities across the 10 ASEAN Member States.

The regional scholarship programme will help contribute to the aspirations of the ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community Blueprint 2025, the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (Goal 4, 10, and 17) to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education, and simultaneously be in support of Maybank Group’s goal to “improve the lives of 2 million households across ASEAN by 2025” as one of its sustainability commitments.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ASEAN-MAYBANK SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME?

To be eligible for the ASEAN-Maybank Scholarship, applicants must meet all the below requirements:
• Received acceptance letters from universities within the ASEAN University Network (AUN) member or its associates, OR;

• Currently in thefirst year of undergraduate studies at any university that is a member or associate of the AUN.
• Citizenship from any of the 10 ASEAN member states, intending to pursue OR currently pursuing an undergraduate education at prestigious universities outside their own countries but within the AUN member and associates universities across ASEAN.
• Age should be 23 years old or below.
• Required to attain a minimum CGPA of 3.00 or its equivalent during foundation studies. For first-year students, maintaining a minimum CGPA of 3.00 or equivalent is essential.
• Strong academic record and active involvement in extracurricular activities.

• Field of study must be among the approved disciplines for the program (refer to the list below).

Potential scholars will undergo a rigorous selection process. Maybank Foundation & ASEAN Foundation will jointly screen shortlisted candidates and make the final selection for approval.

British Council GREAT Scholarships

The GREAT Scholarships 2024 programme, launched by the British Council together with 72 UK universities, supports postgraduate students from Bangladesh, China, Egypt, Ghana, Greece, Kenya, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Thailand, Turkey and Vietnam to access world-class UK higher education opportunities.

Key dates

  • Scholarship applications will open in late Autumn 2023.
  • The deadline for scholarship applications is 1.00pm (UK time) on Monday 13 May 2024.
  • Scholarship results will be announced on Tuesday  11 June 2024.
  • If you are offered the scholarship, we’ll ask that you confirm acceptance of your scholarship and your offer by a fixed date.

Eligibility criteria

  • Applicants should be passport holders of Malaysia.
  • Your programme must commence at the University of Sheffield in Autumn 2024.
  • You must receive an offer for a course studied in full at the University of Sheffield. Masters programmes split between the University of Sheffield and a partner institution are not eligible to apply for a scholarship.
  • For tuition fee purposes you must be self-funded and required to pay the overseas tuition fee.
  • You must not be a sponsored student*.
  • Distance learning courses are ineligible for the GREAT scholarship.
  • Part-time courses are ineligible for the GREAT scholarship.
  • All Crossways courses and Erasmus Mundus courses are ineligible for a merit scholarship.
  • Integrated PhD programmes are ineligible for the GREAT scholarship
  • These scholarships are not applicable to any postgraduate courses which are more than one year in duration. This includes, but is not exclusive to, the following courses:
    • MArch Architecture
    • MArch Architecture and Landscape Architecture
    • MArch Architecture: Collaborative Practice
  • The University of Sheffield reserves the right to review and change scholarship provision.

Selection criteria

This is a competitive process and not all applications will be successful. A panel of senior members of staff will select the strongest applications and will be looking for the following:

  • Applicant has given examples of achievements which represent excellence and initiative in educational, voluntary, or professional areas.
  • Applicant has shown how these achievements relate to the course they have applied for at the University of Sheffield and connected that to their future ambitions.
  • Applicant meets the profile of a GREAT Scholar (see below section).

Award criteria

  • You must commence your programme at the University of Sheffield in autumn 2024.
  • The University of Sheffield – GREAT Scholarship 2024 cannot be awarded in conjunction with any of the following scholarships:
    • International Postgraduate Taught Merit Scholarship 2024
    • International Postgraduate Taught Scholarship 2024
    • NCUK Postgraduate Taught Scholarship 2024
    • Professor David Locker Scholarship in Social Science, Oral Health and Dentistry 2024
    • Sir Sze-yuen Chung Postgraduate Merit Scholarship 2024

  • In the event that you are selected for any of the above scholarships the most valuable award will take precedence.
  • The scholarship can be awarded in conjunction with any available scholarships from the Department or Faculty you will be studying in, subject to not becoming a sponsored student*. Please use the funding calculator to find out if any scholarships are available from your Department/Faculty.
  • The scholarship cannot be awarded in conjunction with any funding from an external sponsor**, excluding a loan, which has to be paid back in full.
  • If you are receiving a loan (which has to be paid back in full) from an organisation to which we offer a discount, you are not able to combine this scholarship with the discount – the most valuable award will take precedence.
  • If an offer of a place of study requires a deposit to be paid by a set date you must pay this deposit to continue to be eligible for the scholarship and to hold your offer for a place of study.
  • If you are selected for the scholarship and you fail to meet the conditions of your offer you will no longer be eligible to receive the award.
  • If you change your Masters programme during your studies your scholarship may be forfeited.
  • The GREAT scholarship can be provided for a maximum of 1 full-time academic year. 
  • The scholarship will be applied as a tuition fee discount only, there is no cash alternative.
  • The decision of the scholarship panel is final. No scholarship applications or decision appeals will be considered.
  • All decisions made by the University are made in good faith. If a scholarship is awarded on the basis of predicted grades and you do not achieve the predicted grades or if the information provided is false, the University reserves the right to remove the scholarship.
  • If you are selected for the scholarship, you will be required to pay a tuition fee deposit by a fixed date.
  • If you are offered the scholarship, we’ll ask that you confirm acceptance of your scholarship and your offer by a fixed date.

* Sponsored student is defined as an individual who is in receipt of a total sum of funds that matches or exceeds the original tuition fee required by the University.

** Government or governmental organisation – international, national or regional; research council; charity; private enterprise; or any similar organisation (excluding the British Council).
